Empowering Women in Arequipa, Perú!

I have officially submitted my resignation from Corporate America and have decided to follow my heart and I could not be happier!  FINALLY, I can let everyone know that I have accepted a year long fellowship with Thunderbird for Good in Arequipa, Perú.  Yes…I AM MOVING TO PERÚ!!!!  Excited does not even begin to explain everything that I feel when I discuss the opportunity and the fact that I will be moving to Latin America.  I never imagined that this opportunity would come so fast, but I am so happy that it did! (guess those interviews in Spanish went pretty well! See ‘Conquering Fears!‘ article)

I will be working in a mining community in Arequipa, Peru to empower women entrepreneurs in the community  by facilitating a leadership and business curriculum that has been created by the ever so talented professors at my Alma Mater, The Thunderbird School of Global Management.  This is a double dream come true! I am able to help women and immerse myself in a new culture…all at the same time.  Can life be any sweeter?!  While in Perú, I plan to blog weekly about my experience and keep everyone posted on the happenings of this phenomenal experience.

Take a look at the video so that you can see some of the sights and sounds associated with this beautiful city in Perú.  I cannot wait!!!
